Take Creatine??

At Rise, we get a common question -- what supplements should I be taking? Especially CREATINE!

It doesn't matter if it is a youth athlete for Lebanon High School or a 70 year old lady who just loves to hike around Wilson County but lifts to support her health... we get the question

Creatine is all the rage!

The most studied and popular supplement on the market has everyone hyped for its awesome benefits.

If you don't know what this superhero supplement is..... here is a brief rundown.

Creatine is a natural compound produced in your body and found in certain foods.

It's commonly found in foods such as:

  • Red meat

  • Fish

  • Poultry

95% of creatine can be found in your muscles where it provides  ENERGY, MUSCLE GROWTH, STRENGTH, and improves COGNITIVE HEALTH!

Every adult should be using creatine even if you don't lift but........

What are the down sides to taking creatine?

Will it hurt my kidneys?

Will I go bald?

The answer?...... NO!

There has been no evidence that shows creatine causing kidney issues or balding.

What about giving it to your kids?

As of right now..... the science all points to hold off on the creatine use at least till 15.

Why that age?

Because simply.... not many studies have been done for creatine use in adolescents.

However....

That doesn't mean that their aren't benefits for kids taking creatine.

This study showed some performance enhancements when taking creatine...

But still more research needs to be done.

All in all creatine is a freaking awesome supplement!

Every adult should be taking creatine daily.

And if your children want to take creatine just monitor it.

I honestly believe it won't hurt them but use discretion.
